Blog Bric-a-Brac

-This is my dream man.

Say hello to Mrs. Caryn Gavin

-Walking out of Felder's class last night I got an eyeful through a picture as the drawing class next door was working on the finishing touches on the human form. In this case the form was a 65 year old man (think Sir John Gielgud in his later days-) with paper thin skin that hung in bags off his limbs. and everywhere else.
At that moment I was incredibly grateful that I picked Lit over Art.

-The song of the week is 'Indiana' by Jon McLaughlin.

Steve and School this week.
Stay classy, San Diego.

Written for me.

Friedrich Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil, Epigram #102:
'To discover that one is loved should really bring the lover down about his beloved. "How's that? Is this person modest enough to love you? Or stupid enough? Or—or—. . ."'

Fluffy Eugenics

Stop our culture of senseless dog cross-breeding.

A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal,
but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.

Mixing a poodle and a German Shepard? Now that's cruel.

New Music Friday

Boston by Augustana

She said I think I'll go to Boston...
I think I'll start a new life,
I think I'll start it over, where no one knows my name,
I'll get out of California, I'm tired of the weather,
I think I'll get a lover and fly em out to Spain...
I think I'll go to Boston,
I think that I'm just tired
I think I need a new town, to leave this all behind...
I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset,
I hear it's nice in the Summer, some snow would be nice...
Boston... where no one knows my name...

Road Trip

All has been quite over in this region of the blogosphere for the last week as the rest of my life picked up speed. Last Wednesday Catherine and I packed up the Park, and, along with Dani California, headed up the 101. After meandered up the coast we landed at my maternal grandfathers home for a long weekend of baileys, food, frolicking in the pool, family and generally being spoiled rotten.

Eating breakfast on an empty beach in Carpenteria.

Poolside

Like everything in life, I searched for the lesson to be found on the winding road of life. These are the ones of RoadTrip06:
1. If Buick were articles of clothing, they would be Members Only jackets.
2. Popey's in always a good idea. Who doesn't like Flava?
3. Roadkill Blackjack might be the coolest game ever. (The record: 21 in 90 miles).
4. Woodside is the closest thing to perfection on Earth.
5. No man will ever love me more or take better care of me than my dad, granddad, and brothers. I have been ruined.
