I (haven't) got a crush

So, for the first time in a long time, I realized today that I am without a crush. No one. I was singing Johnny Cash's "time's a'wastin" and realized that I have no one specific person with whom I wish to waste time. It's not that I don't like his general idea of wasting time, in fact I'm a big fan, but aside from Mr. Cash himself, I'd rather take up a hobby. I'm not sure when this happened, perhaps the revolving door of officer and a gentleman look a likes this summer showed me the power in the microcrush and got me out of the habit, but I can't put a born on date on this lack of feelings. Most of all, I think I'm fairly happy being crush free. Let's see how long it lasts.

It has to worse for him than for the team

ASHBURN, Va. -- A paintball shot in the groin left rookie LaRon Landry unable to practice when the Washington Redskins opened their minicamp Friday.

The No. 6 overall pick in this year's draft was injured during a team-building outing Wednesday, when coach Joe Gibbs allowed the players to leave early at the end of the voluntary spring workouts. Some players went bowling or had lunch together, while many of the defensive players went to play paintball.

"I didn't know paintball was that dangerous," linebacker Marcus Washington said. "I hope it wasn't friendly fire."

Landry was on the sidelines when practice began, but within minutes he left and began laboring slowly up the hill toward the team's main building, appearing to favor his left leg.

Gibbs said Landry should be fine after a couple of days' rest.

"It's kind of bizarre," Gibbs said. "Almost anything can happen in life, so every now and then something like that does happen."

Cavs V. Spurs

Why am I so despondent about this series? Because, for the first time in my life, having Boobie is not enough.

Ch, Ch, Ch, Changes

The past week has seen a major transformation in my life. Going from a care free, flip-flop wearing student to a hosiery wearing, morning train taking Easterner. In a moment of self-reflection on Monday (about 26 hours after touching down), I realized just what I'd become. I had taken the 6:30 train home and was standing in front of the basement refrigerator, digging around for something to drink, with my dress shirt undone and a cross and medallion hitting my wife beater while I yelled at the kids becuase they were making me late for my Yankees-Sawks viewing. Apparently, the East Coast version of myself is Henry Hill.

The End of an Era

Well in the end we can all call a friend
well that's something I know as true.
And then a thousand years and a thousand tears
I'll come finding my original crew
--Feels Like Home, O.A.R.

Thankfully, I'll be seeing a lot of my original crew, even as I leave them. They seem to follow me, but I'm grateful we won't have to wait for thousands of years. Times are changing and I'm going to be missing a lot of people. But when you have this cutie to look forward to, who wouldn't pack up and move thousands of miles.
